GUEST POST| 7 Beauty Products that Will Speed up Your Beauty Routine

Women all over the globe will surely agree on the fact that there’s never enough time to get prepared in the morning. If you’re one of them – welcome to the club! Of course, leaving your house looking like you’ve just got out of bed is simply unacceptable, but we have a solution to that problem. Here are essential beauty products and steps you need to follow in order to speed up your beauty routine, so check them out!

Cleanse and exfoliate your face the night before
Cleansing is essential after you remove your makeup before bedtime, and it will certainly save you some time in the morning. If you cleanse and exfoliate your face the night before, a moisturising wipe will be just enough to remove dirt (if any) and hydrate your skin.

Dry shampoo to the rescue
Washing your hair in the morning can be really time-consuming, which is exactly why a dry shampoo should be a staple in your bathroom. This extraordinary product absorbs oil between washings and masks dirt and odour in your hair, which makes it an absolute must-have. Some of them, such as De Lorenzo Essential Treatments Absorb Dry Shampoo actually add fullness and volume to your hair, while keeping it fresh and clean.

Get a long-lasting body wash

When buying your cosmetic products, either makeup or skincare ones, make sure that you choose the ones with long-lasting effects. This is particularly important if you decide to take a shower the night before in order to save some time in the morning – the scent will last much longer, helping you stay fresh all day long.

CC cream instead of foundation
Ditch your foundation and get a BB or CC cream instead – it still provides good coverage, while protecting and moisturising your skin at the same time. Garnier offers the most amazing line of such products which provide a long-lasting hydration and correct blemishes. It gets even better when you realise that some of them even have anti-ageing properties!

Skip your eye cream

Even though this may sound weird, skipping your eye cream can really be a time-saver when you’re in a hurry. Trust us, a regular serum you use on a daily basis will do the trick – your under-eye area will be hydrated and well-nourished, and it will definitely save you a step! CR Formulations’ The One serum will do wonders for your face, making it look refreshed and plumped up.

Red lipstick is your go-to option

Red lipstick can complement almost any outfit, and it can do a wonderful job even if you don’t apply anything else. If you choose to put focus on your lips, your eyes and cheeks can remain makeup-free, which is always a good option – particularly when you’re in a hurry. However, if you have trouble finding a perfect shade for your skin tone, check out an offer by Clarins makeup brand. Their Rouge Eclat lipstick line features several shades appropriate for different skin tones, so make sure that you’ve picked the right one!
Don't forget mascara
Even one coat of your favourite mascara will accentuate your eyes and make them look wide open, so don’t forget to apply it even when you’re running late. It will make your lashes look longer, thicker, and darker, which will draw more attention to your face even when you don’t put any other makeup on. Make sure not to skip this step in your morning beauty routine, because it will enhance your facial features and make you look wide awake.
As you can see, your morning beauty routine doesn’t have to be as time-consuming as you probably thought. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to accomplish everything in time if you carefully think through every step – everything will be just fine if you’re well-organised!

Photo Diary | SINGAPORE

How is it that I have lived in Malaysia for 10 years, and I never once been to Singapore until a month ago? I suppose it is one of those "better late than never" cases. Not that I really missed out too much as Singapore and Malaysia are quite similar in terms of the culture and food. I have to say, though, I personally like Singapore more than Malaysia. I just feel that SG is a lot cleaner, safer, and the people are really friendly.

Even though I was only in SG for a few days, I did see most of what SG had to offer. The only place I didn't get to explore was the Sentosa Island. My parents weren't really into doing the adventurous activities, so there wasn't much point going there. I'm also kicking myself that I didn't try their chilli crabs which are a must if you ever go to Singapore!

The first couple of nights, I stayed at Royal Plaza on Orchard Road which is where all the malls are. Woweee, you definitely need several days to get through all the stores. There were high-end, luxury brands, as well as fast fashion, budget friendly shops. Shopping heaven for everyone.

Then I stayed at Marina Bay Sands and got to swim at the infinity pool! I legit woke up at 6am on my last day just for a swim before the crowd and catch the beautiful sunrise. Sacrificing my beauty sleep was worth it. Whilst at MBS, I also went to Gardens By The Bay. I was absolutely blown away by the amazing architecture and the beautiful surroundings. It was just as beautiful at night too- truly mesmerising! My friend took me to a rooftop bar there and let me just tell you the view was absolutely breathtaking. Possibly the moment I fell in love with Singapore...

Ahhh I'm missing the beautiful SG already!

Have you visited Singapore before?

And just like that, it's July...June flew by so quickly and we are half way through the year already. Gulp. Looking on the bright side, it's one month closer to Summer. I got to escape the start of winter as I was enjoying the sunshine over in KL and Singapore. It was great. Once I got back to Melbourne, I was hit with a cold.

Sigh. Winter is truly here and it's time to rug up, blast on the heater, and drink many cups of  tea. This particular outfit just wouldn't do it in the 10 degrees Celsius weather, but it's a good layering base. I love the back split detail which is quite unique and flattering. As the overall colour scheme is quite cool, add an element of fun and pizazz with a patterned scarf. If you do decide to brave the cold, don't forget to bring a coat or a jacket! Stay warm!

What are some of your winter essentials?
