Dressing for Comfort and Style in Winter

Oh baby, it's cold outside.
Winter is well and truly here in the Southern Hemisphere and i'm not a fan of it. Even though I've been living in Australia for over ten years, i'm still not used to the cold and I don't think I will ever be. Ah look at me complaining when it doesn't even snow where I am...
To be fair, there are some aspects of winter that I do like, such as;
being able to sleep with my blanket and donas wrapped up like a cocoon,
drinking endless amount of hot tea, and of course
it's cuddle season (gents, application is now open..i'm just kidding ha-ha).
Seriously though, how I get through winter is the goodness of winter fashion.

I'm all about comfort when comes winter time, as I don't want to freeze my little booty off. Usually  I dress accordingly to the weather and sometimes accordingly to my mood, so in this case it was very gloomy, rainy and... let's just say my heart got a little shattered. So I chose an 89% all black outfit.

Coat| Portmans
Jeans | Jeanswest
Throw over cardigan/Scarf | Valley Girl
Backpack | Rains
Boots | ZU
 *Umbrella | Everyday Umbrella

I jazzed up the monochrome outfit with accessories such as a beanie, a scarf, backpack, and an umbrella. Adding these accessories makes the outfit less plain Jane and more stylish. Who'd have thought that an umbrella-as an everyday object can really add some dimension to an outfit. In this case, it added 50 shades of grey to the overall look.

Let's take a minute to just appreciate the Paris Umbrella, how chic does it look right? I just couldn't not have it in my life to add to my collection of Paris/Eiffel Tower obsession when I was picking out an umbrella on Everyday Umbrella. It was a really hard decision though with so many cute designs to choose from! Everyday Umbrella is an Australian shop that provides fun, quirky, cute, and unique designs of umbrellas. Take a peak and I'm sure you'll find one that capture your sense of personality and style. If you do, guess what? Everyday Umbrella has kindly offered 20% off all umbrellas to my lovely readers when you enter the code:
I'd love to know which is your favourite design from Everyday Umbrella. I love my umbrella so much and it's perfect for Melbourne's unpredictable weather. I took it out to play when it was super windy and it didn't flip inside out! That's how you know it's made with high quality material.

Happy shopping!

Do you love winter or diss it? Why?

Current Favourites 2015!

Don't freak out, we are only half way through 2015. Wait. WHAT?!
This year has gone insanely fast but it's my birthday month, so I'm not complaining. If you follow me on Instagram and Twitter, you'd know that I'll be going to New York to celebrate my birthday. Eepp! The countdown is on, and I can't begin to tell you how excited I am. New York has been my dream for so long and to be able to make it come true myself is truly satisfying.
Since this will be an expensive trip, I haven't been/ or try not to buy much makeup items. I wanted to save and buy makeup when I'm in the U.S as it's a lot cheaper. Hollah Sephora, I'm coming atcha!
Anyways, here are my current favourite things that I have been reaching for constantly and love!

Miss Dior Eau De Toilette  MISS DIOR EAU DE TOILETTE

My new favourite scent! This is heaven in a bottle. At first when I spritzed it, the smell was quite overpowering and I didn't like it. Then a minute later, the smell changed. It actually smells really nice. It's girly, feminine, elegant, and sweet. I'm not very good at describing scents but trust me, it smells dang good.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24hr Foundation

Okay, I might be cheating as I haven't had this for very long but I'm head over heels for this foundation! I haven't heard a lot of people talk about this foundation and I'm not sure why. This foundation does everything I want it to do for an oily gal like me and more. It's a lightweight foundation with a medium coverage and has a matte finish. I love this because it's very natural looking and doesn't feel heavy on the skin. I can't preach that it lasts for 24hr, because I don't wear make-up for that long (who does?). However, it does lasts a good six hours before I notice that some foundation has fade around my nose and I starts to get oily. One thing that I'm not too fond of this foundation, is the overpowering fragrance. It is as if I had spray a whole bottle of perfume on my face, it's that strong.

Australis AC on Tour Contouring & Highlighting Palette

If you live in the land down under A.K.A Australia, you'll probably have heard about this palette from many Aussie beauty enthusiasts. Yes, this is indeed the dupe for the Anastasia contour kit. It took me quite a while to get my hands on this palette, as it was always sold out. I really like this palette, but especially the banana shade for under the eyes. It's bomb. I also use the middle contouring shade a lot as well. All the colours are very pigmented, so a little goes a long way. Sometimes, I use it as eyeshadows to define my eyes, so I find that this palette is quite versatile.

Skindinavia Makeup Finishing Spray

This product is magic in a bottle. It keeps my makeup looking fresh and help it stay in place all day. It's paraben free which is a bonus. It's like a mist, so it doesn't feel heavy at all on the skin. This spray also keeps my oil away and eliminates shine. A big round of applause for this magical product.

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss Lipstick in 107

Hands up if you bought this lipstick because of Zoella? Oh just me. Guilty! This is a perfect red for cold wintery days. I feel like this is a lipstick colour that'd look good on a lot of different skin tones. It has a velvet texture and I wouldn't say it's completely matte, it has a slight sheen to it. It lasts for quite a while on the lips, but it's not transfer proof. Great colour, great staying power, just a tad drying.

Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencil

On the topic of lips. I've been pretty obsessed with these lip pencils. They glides on like a dream and are super pigmented. Even with the matte formula, it doesn't feel drying at all and they lasts for a long time on the lips. Not to mention, they are super affordable. Winner winner chicken dinner (what?). I can't wait to pick up more colours!
Rosehip Gentle Facial Exfoliator

My skin have been really loving this exfoliator. If you have acne-prone or sensitive skin, this will be great for you too. It doesn't irritate my skin afterwards or dry it out. My skin feels smoother and I notice it helps clear up my acne scars too. This gentle guy is my skin's new bestie.

Loreal Brow Artist Plumper

I love this so much better than the Maybelline one. I feel like this brow gel really helps define my brow by adding colour to them and adding some thickness with the fibres in it. The wand makes it easy to apply and comb through the hair. It sets in place all day too. LOVE!

Bare Minerals Prime Time Foundation Primer
I like primers that feels siliconey in texture. It just goes on so smoothly on the skin and makes it feel velvety soft. It diminishes my pores temporarily and provides a great canvas for me to work with when I apply on the foundation. However, I do start to get a little oily after a few hours but it makes my makeup look flawless, so I can forgive it.

Have you tried any of these products before? What are some of your current faves?
