JULY FAVOURITES 2014!

Hey internet friends!! Today, I'll be sharing what I've been loving in the month of July. I think this is the first time that I posted the 'monthly favourites' on time [I think I deserve a pat on the back..]. Anyways, let's jump straight into my first fave which is..

See by Chloe Perfume
SEE BY CHLOE PERFUME

This is one of the presents that I bought for myself, for my birthday last month. I had been eyeing this perfume for so long. Boy oh boy! So glad I have this scent of heaven in my life. This scent lingers on me for the majority of the day, which is a huge bonus. This fragrance has a sweet, fresh scent to it. It's not too overpowering for the nose, it's light and has a hint of sexiness to it. I've gotten compliments when wearing this, so you know that this is a winner. The packaging of the perfume is alright, their signature perfume with the bow is much more cuter. Anything with a bow, gets a big yahh-huhh from me!

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Blush
PHYSICIANS FORMULA NUDE WEAR BLUSH
Speaking of bows, let's talk about this little cutie patootie that is, a blush. Ten out of ten for the packaging! Just incase you haven't realised, there's a secret compartment with a mirror and a brush in the back. I don't use the brush though, but the mirror always comes in handy. In terms of the pigmentation, it's pretty sheer. You can build the color up to an extent, which I really like. You definitely wouldn't end up looking like a clown with this. On the cheeks, it leaves a nice soft pink colour on them. It also gives you a nice glow. I think this works well as a highlighter too. The only negative for me is the price. Luckily, I bought it on a sale though so I am quite happy with it.
Maybelline Dream Lumi Highlighting Concealer
 MAYBELLINE DREAM LUMI HIGHLIGHTING CONCEALER

This one is an old favourite. I repurchased it at the beginning of this month, I fell back in love with it even more than I did the first time. When I first used it, I only applied it under my eyes. This time, I use it to highlight areas on my face and it does wonders. It makes me look fresh face and radiant. It blends like a dream and best of all, it doesn't crease on me. For under the eyes, it's great to conceal dem panda eyes but also brightens them up. The only complain I have of this, is that it runs out very fast. Perhaps, it's because I use it to highlight areas on my face as well... Overall, I will probably keep repurchasing till they discontinue it [don't do it, Maybelline].
Benefit They're Real Mascara
BENEFIT THEY'RE REAL MASCARA

To be honest, when I first used this mascara I wasn't that impressed with it. I didn't get why this is every beauty blogger's cult favourite mascara. I left it in the back of my drawer for awhile. Then one day I decided to give it another go and I loved it. This is the ultimate mascara. It does everything you want a mascara to perform. It holds a curl well, volumises and lengthens your lashes. The biggest plus about the mascara, would be the wand itself. I like the little spikey ball at the end, which is great for getting those little, stubborn lashes on the inner corners of your eyes. As you can see from the photo above, I have three sample size of the mascara that I got from the Benefit mascara swap, magazine and an event. I'm not sure if I'd buy the full size mascara but I'm enjoying using these babies up.
Real Techniques Duo Fibre Brushes
REAL TECHNIQUES DUO FIBRE BRUSHES

I'm loving using the Real Techniques brushes and it's no surprise why. Their brushes are very well made and are high quality in my opinion. This duo fibre brush set is great because it retrains you from applying too much makeup [I like cake, but no one wants to look like a cake face]. The bristles feels incredibly soft on the skin. I use the little brush to contour my nose but it's a great blending brush for the eye-shadow too. The contouring/medium brush I use for duh..contouring. It picks up the right amount of product and blends well on the hollow of the cheeks. The large powder brush is great for applying loose powder to set the foundation. Bravo, Sam and Nic!
T2 Melbourne Breakfast Tea
T2 MELBOURNE BREAKFAST TEA
If you're a coffee lover, then see you later. But if you're a tea lover like myself, you'll love this tea. It's absolutely divine. It's basically a vanilla flavoured tea. It smells and taste incredible! I usually put a teaspoon or two of sugar with it, cause I like my tea sweet. If you don't like tea, I think this will definitely make you change your mind.
I shall now leave you with a tea related quote-
"Where there's tea, there's hope."

OOTD: Feeling MINTY

Helloo pretties! It has been a while since I last did an OOTD. So, I thought I'd share with you guys what I chose to wear on this cold, Winter day. In the morning, I struggled to get out of bed [as per usual] as it was so chilly. I peeked out of my bedroom window to be greeted with a sea of thick fog. It was very cloudy and depressing. I wanted to feel cosy and warm, which was translated to the outfit I wore.
Today was quite an easy day for me; went up to the city to get some work done and then caught up with an uni friend for lunch. The restaurant we went to was named "Cookie", which I thought was funny but cute. The food there was absolutely delish [sorry that I didn't get to take some food-porn pictures to tease you] but so-o expensive!..
Sweater- Portmans
Pants- Miss Shop from Myer
Boots- Famous Footwear
Knee-high socks- Cotton On

I think this outfit is perfect for gloomy, cold days like today. A knitted, turtleneck sweater is definitely a winner. Turtleneck is making a come back this season and they're great for layering. I was drawn in by the seafoam green/ minty colour of the sweater when I saw it in the shop. Pastel colours are also a hit for this season, which I'm loving. Turtlenecks can sometimes be difficult to rock or look old-fashion but if you style it right, you'll be out the door looking chic.

To add a little "twist" to my outfit, I wore knee-high socks underneath my boots. Letting the socks peek over the top of the boots, not only keep your legs warm but it's also super cute. Thumbs up to fashion and functionality!

Turtlenecks are a classic staple. Style icons such as Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe had flaunt it effortlessly. You can too!

What do you think of this outfit? Yay or nay for turtlenecks?

JUNE FAVOURITES 2014!

Hello lovelies! Welcome back to my blog. Hmmm...does anyone notice anything different? *Wink* *Wink*... Yesss! 10 Gryffindor points to you if you noticed that my blog had a makeover. Let's kick off my June Favourites with the lovely, Sarah from Trisarahtops Smiles Design who is the web designer behind my blog. She has been such a gem to work with. The whole process was stress-free and straightforward. A numerous e-mails back and forth and voila! A new design that I had envisaged was born. If you're looking at giving your blog a makeover, Sarah is your go-to girl! The price is affordable and Sarah offers pre-made blog templates too, over at her Etsy store. I'm very happy with my new design. Thanks a bunch, Sarah!☺

CHI CHI Elegant Palette

This is my first Chi Chi palette and I know for sure that I will be going back to pick up some of their other palettes. This palette consists of cool toned, natural shades which I think is a great staple to have in your makeup collection. I love that there are four matte, four shimmery and four glittery eye-shadows in the palette. There are endless looks you can create from this one palette! I'm very impressed with the pigmentation. I think the glittery shades feels a little bit chalky but otherwise, the rest of the eye-shadows feels smooth and buttery. I will definitely be getting a lot of use out of this palette for the months ahead. Love love love!♥

Revlon Lip Stain
REVLON Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in #30 Smitten

I am not a lip sticks/glosses hoarder at all. You would laugh if you saw my little lip products collection. On a daily basis, I usually just put on my trusted Nivea Honey and Milk lip balm and that's it. If I do decide to wear a bit of colour on my lips, I'd usually go for the nudes. I decided to get out of my comfort zone a little and experiment with wearing darker, brighter lip colours such as Revlon's Balm Stain in Smitten. Sometimes, I feel that my makeup is incomplete and then BAM! I wear this lip colour and my makeup look complete and done. I love how you can build up the colour to be sheer or as dark as you desire. After I had applied this, I like to use a sheet of tissue to blot to get a matte finish and help the product lasts longer. It makes my teeth look whiter too, which is always a bonus. If you're like me and you don't feel comfortable wearing a true red lip colour, I think this colour would be safe to wear. It's bright, but not too bright. I feel an obsession for darker/brighter lip colours coming..oh gosh!

Batiste Dry Shampoo
BATISTE Dry Shampoo

How have I live without this dry shampoo for so long?! This has now become one of my new holy grail hair products. I wash my hair every other day. My hair gets pretty oily when I don't wash it which is quite icky to look at. The days when I skip washing my hair, I'd use this product. It absorbs the excess oil in my scalps really well and it doesn't leave a powdery residue. It makes my hair look cleaner and volumises it too. I have black hair and the white powder doesn't bother me as I make sure the product have been messaged into my roots. It has a nice clean, pleasant smell to it. I will definitely be repurchasing this over and over again!

JOHN FRIEDA Frizz-Ease Extra Strength Hair Serum

Alright, I actually don't have frizzy hair at all. So I can't tell you if this product actually works to tame frizzy hair. Sorry... I bought this on a whim after I ran out of the Lee Stafford Argan Oil. I started using it a few times and I quickly fell in love with how it makes my hair feel. I applied this when my hair is wet. After my hair has been dried, my hair feels so silky and smooth. It makes my hair smells really nice and leave it looking glossy too. Good stuff, JF!

Image via http://thefaultinourstarsmovie.com/

Hands down, The Faults in Our Stars movie was the best movie that I had watched in June (or for 2014)! No questions about it. Oh my gosh, this movie made cried, laughed and smiled. They translated the book into the movie really well. I usually don't cry in movies or at least I don't like crying in public, but I just couldn't stop the tears from running down my face. If you haven't watch the movie yet (which I recommend you should), avoid wearing mascaras and bring a box of tissue with you. Trust me on this.

What were some of your June Favourites? Thoughts on my new blog design?
