Hello beautiful creatures!

Before Spring comes to an end, I thought I would show you ladies my go-to spring makeup routine. I don't sport this eye look everyday because I love my neutral eyeshadows and I usually just wear a one cream eyeshadow on a daily basis. It is also easier to get my makeup done and dusted, instead of fluffing around with the blending of the different eyeshadows (you know the feels right, makeup lovers?). However, I do love the pop of colour on this eye-look which is quite fun and you can never go wrong with a bright coral red lippy for spring.
Let's get rollin'!
1. Not priming is a makeup crime for me. It helps keep your makeup in place for the day and smooth out your pores. It also acts like a canvas/base for the foundation.
2. Depends on your own personal preference, I always do my brows in the beginning. I brush them through with the brush then fill them in with the pencil. I then go over them with an eyebrow gel to set them in place. Tip: If your hair is dark, go a shade or two lighter on your brows and vice versa, if you have lighter hair, go a shade or two darker.
3. Time to conceal those designer bags! I also like to highlight under the eyes, down the nose and chin as well.
4. My current HG foundation is the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation. It makes my skin look flawless which gets two thumbs up from me. I like how it's semi dewy, which gives a healthy glow to my complexion. A little goes a long way with this foundation and depends on the method of applying it, you can get a sheer to full coverage.
5. If I don't powder my face afterwards, my face WILL shine bright like a diamond and not the good kind. So to avoid that, I apply powder to ze T-zone. I have gone through so many of the Dream Matte much love for it!
6. For spring and summer time, it's time to pretend to look like a bronze goddess. I usually just do the "E" motion on both sides of my face.
7. I have quite a large face so to give an illusion of a smaller face (and nose), I like to contour. Time to do the fish face... how flattering, right? But it does the trick.
8. For the cheeks, I've been really liking using a soft pink, peachy blush by Canmake- just to add a subtle color on the cheeks.
9. To give myself a healthy glow, I like to highlight my cheekbones and sometimes on my cupid's bow just to make my lips look fuller. It's kinda pointless, cause it gets rubbed off anyway..
10. For the base of the eyes, I like to use a pink cream shadow then go over it with a shimmery pink powder eyeshadow. Then, I use a matte brown shadow for the crease to blend the eyeshadows together.
11. For the bottom lash-line, I use a aqua color, then I went over it with a purple eyeshadow. I really like the two-tone effect that it gives. I also highlighted the inner corners of my eyes with the pink cream eyeshadow stick. Under my brow bone, I use the Mary-Lou Manizer. Note: I should've applied a white eyeliner on my waterline to make the colours pop even more but I forgot. Oops.
12. Time to make my eyes look somewhat even with the eye-liner. I've been loving lining my eyes horizontally rather than winging it upwards. Then I apply a couple of coats of mascaras. I personally don't put any mascara on my bottom lashes because it looks funky on my eyes for some odd reason. Not cute. After that, a step that I never ever skips is tight-lining. It makes such a difference!

Apply some lip balm..
13.Then BAM! I love me some bright coral watermelon- red lippy. I love this lip stain balm so much not only because it's a gorgeous color, but also because I'm lazy when it comes to re-applying my lipstick. The colour doesn't fade for so long. Happy days!

'You're invited to...'

At some point, you will be invited to some special events. Whether it is a formal, homecoming, prom, wedding or graduation, it's time to look like a million dollar, baby! You want to get heads turning, don't you?
I feel that the dress is the main focus and it needs to be eye-catching. For a special occasion, I usually like to wear something a little more fun. Not just a solid colour dress. I love strapless, sweetheart neck-line dresses. This might be a little odd, but one of my favourite feature of my body is my collar-bone. Weird huh? But I do like to show it off. I'm also a big fan of princess-like dresses. Who doesn't fantasize about living the fairy-tale life and being a princess? Just me? Okay..

Are you drooling over those stunning dresses yet? When I saw these dresses on the Aviva Dress site, I suddenly had the heart shaped eyes on. All the dresses are absolutely gorgeous. What I am most impressed, is the fact that you can customise the dresses according to your size and colour of your choice. Some of their dresses look like designer dresses that are very similar to Eli Saab's and Zuhair Murad's creations, except you don't need to pay the hefty amount of money for them. Hollahh! Aviva Dress are always offering amazing discounts, sales and even free shipping! So you can save the extra dollars to get your hair done for the special day. If for whatever reason you have a problem with your dress, you'll be covered with a 12 month warranty. You can return the dress and they will immediately fix or replace the dress for you.
Have I convinced you enough yet? If you have a special event coming up, definitely take a peek at their site and start drooling shopping.

I hope you gorgeous ladies have a magical time at your special event. Which style of dresses do you like best?

*This post is a collaboration with Aviva Dress. The dress in my photos is my own dress that I purchased myself (fun fact: I actually worn this dress at my year 12 formal two years ago). I only recommend products or services I believe will be good for my readers! All opinions are my own.

Hi everyone!

I am a bit of a stress-head at times. I stressed over a lot of things - big or small, relevant or irrelevant. I.e: Boys. Assessments. What I should wear tomorrow? Work. My future. If I can afford that Zac Posen gown? The list goes on and on. Bottom-line is, we all deal with some levels of stress in our lives. A little bit of stress is good to help us get our shiz done but too much stress is not very good for us. I thought that I would share some of my tips on reducing stress and hopefully some of these methods will help you out.
If not? Maybe you should take a chill pill...

1. Give yourself some TLC

Whatever it is that is stressing you out, it can wait. Give yourself a little break and have some 'You' time. Do something that makes you happy. For me, I like to listen to music and draw my little heart out or I like to watch some YouTube videos. I particularly love watching the SacconeJolys' vlogs. They ALWAYS put a smile on my face afterwards. Allow yourself to do something you love, so then you can tackle the problem fresh minded and less stressed.
2. Make lists

There is something about making a list and crossing each point off as you go that's so satisfying. When you feel overwhelmed with everything that need to be done, it's a good idea to write down a list. Even writing down your thoughts and worries can help make your brain less cluttered and you can go back and solve the problem accordingly. Writing a list will help you feel that you've done something.

3. Prioritise

Going to that 18th birthday party can wait. Organise your schedule well and not let work pile up will reduce stress. Doing assignments last minute can really stress you out and make you go bananas. Don't worry, I've been there. Do the bigger tasks first and get it out of the way, then you can easily get all the smaller tasks done without any trouble.

4. Drink green tea

Yes, I'm looking at you. Is that your fourth cup of coffee today? Tsk tsk.. Try to limit your caffeine intake. Too much caffeine from coffee or energy drinks can increase your blood pressure and definitely doesn't help with stress. Instead, try to drink green tea. Green tea is very beneficial for your health and it contains theanine, an amino acid that has a calming and soothing effect on the nervous system. Yay to green tea!

5. Stop the 'P' word

Yup. Procrastination. Don't lie, we all do it. I'm definitely very guilty of that. Work first, play later. Leave all of your electronic devices in another room or switch them off. What I like to do is, every time I get a task done. I'll allow myself to go on my social medias for 10 mins, then back to work. Little incentives like that will help you get your work done.

6.  LOL

Little things like laughter, can bring us the most joy. Laughing releases endorphins that improve our mood and decreases stress levels. Find the funny side of the situation or again, look up funny videos on YouTube. I personally love the Taylor Swift and the turtle cameo video. Crack me up every time. So, laugh it out!

7. Don't be afraid to say 'NO'!

Say no now, so you can say yes more later. Don't feel guilty for saying 'no' to something. You can only have so much on your plate, and adding more will just overwhelm you. Know your limits and priorities and stick to them.

8. Listen to Elsa, literally let it GO!

"Let it gooo, let it gooo!" Forgive but never forget. Don't hold onto grudges. Find what's important and let go of the rest, because they don't matter. Negative people? Let them go! If you can't change something, accept it and let it go. You'll feel better. Promise. ☺

9.  Read motivational quotes

My personal favourite method of all. Reading motivational quotes or even watching motivational videos really kick my butt into gear and make me snap out of my daydream. Reading motivational quotes really inspires me to WANT to get things done.

10. Positive affirmations

When we are stressed, we tend to automatically think of the worst and we tend to talk negatively. Talk yourself through it in a positive way. Ask yourself why you're stressed and what you can do about it. Tell yourself that everything is going to be alright and you got this. No negative self talk allowed!
What is your number 1 method on combating stress?

As it is the beginning of November, that also mean it is officially the Spring Racing Carnival season here in the land down under. Spring Racing Carnival is an event that is very popular that captures the attention of not only the entire nation but also the international celebs. For us fashionitas, it is one of the biggest event on the fashion calender. This year, I went along to Derby Day for a fun day out and also to support my uncle and his horse that was in one of the races.

We arrived pretty early but not early enough as we were in the traffic for quite awhile. More than 70,000 people attended the most prestigious day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. As we got out of the car, we could feel the chills. The drizzle of rain and strong gusty wind appeared here and there didn't dampen the mood for the racegoers. Fashion before function, I ditched my coat in the car. Rookie mistake.

The best thing about events like these, is the dressing up and dolling up part. Derby Day embodies a world of glamour and sophistication, with the traditional black and white monochromatic theme. I feel for the ladies that wore flowy dresses that battled in the wind, and also to the ladies that wore big hats that struggled to stay on their heads. Again, fashion before function! Am I right, ladies?

I purchased the dress quite a while ago and it was just sitting in my closet, chilling. I thought it was time for it to shine and perfect for Derby Day. It's a bodycon dress, which was convenient for the windy weather. I love the pattern on it and the slight cut outs at the bottom of the dress. I paired it with the black wedges that I purchased just the day before. Wedges is the way to go for me opposed to stilettos heels which was seen on many ladies. Stilettos and alcohol aren't a good mix and the heels just went straight into the grass. Not going to lie, it was quite entertaining to watch the ladies walk in them.

For the fascinator, I went with something not too big or too small...just right for me.

My uncle's horse, Firehouse Rock.

It was exciting to watch the race, Firehouse Rock was looking very promising in the beginning where he was up in the top five. But slowly and surely, he was struggling to keep up. He is more of a short distance running horse, so he was not having it... Better luck next time, Firehouse Rock!

All in all, despite the chilly weather, not winning, and my uncle's car getting stuck in the car park, I still had a really fun time!

Have you been to a horse racing carnival before?
