REVIEW: Majorlica Majorca Lash Gorgeous Wing Neo Mascara

Hey beauties! Today I'll be sharing my thoughts on my current favorite mascara, the Majolica Majorca Lash Gorgeous Wing Neo! I purchased this baby while I was in Malaysia and boy oh boy! This mascara is right on point for me. However, I believe that this mascara might not be everyone's taste..I will explain why later. I also bought the Lash Expander Edge Meister which I'm yet to try out but I definitely have high hopes for it. I will do a comparison between the two mascara once I have tried out the Lash Expander mascara. Alrighty! let's start with the packaging shall we?..

I think Majolica Majorca have the best mascara packaging ever! The black and gold combination is classy and elegant. The golden logo detail at the top with the fancy script writing of the name just makes the mascara looks more luxurious and glamorous.

The wand itself is just a typical spiral wand, nothing too fancy looking. The wand has nice spacing between the bristles which will help separate and coat the lashes evenly without the clumping.

The unique thing about the MM mascaras is that they're well known for their fiber mascaras. If you look closely at the picture above, you can see all the fiber on the wand that looks like little lashes. What fiber
mascaras does, is that the fiber will attach to your lashes to make your lashes look more fuller and longer. The formula is on the drier side, which will prevent the clumping.

What does the mascara claims to do [taken from website]: Fiber- rich mascara pumps up lash volume, filing in gaps with glossy black fiber and extending lash length, for fuller, plumper- looking lashes. Screw type applicator brush allows for a generous, yet even, application of mascara from roots to tips. Fiber-infused formula will not weight down lashes instead letting them maintain their curl all day long. Waterproof and sweat-proof  formula prevents unsightly smearing and flaking.

Here are my lashes before the application. I haven't done anything to them. No priming. No curling, Nothing.

I have to disagree with what the mascara claims to do. I don't think it "pumps up lash volume" at all. However, I do find that this is a great lengthening mascara. It does give my lashes a little boost and make them longer looking. And that's pretty much it.
The reason why I love it so much is because it is perfect for the summer time right now. I tend to not wear a lot of makeup when the weather is piping hot. I usually do the no makeup-makeup look and this mascara is amazing for that. It makes my lashes look very natural. Therefore, this mascara is probably not everyone's cup of tea as people tend to like mascara that give a more dramatic, voluminous effect to the lashes.

The staying power of this mascara is pretty good. I wore it to work for several long hours and my lashes were still holding up and no smudges. I do not recommend wearing this mascara on the bottom lashes as I did find some smudging there.

I think this mascara is great for layering with other mascaras or even for beginners who are new to wearing mascara. I do find that I need to apply about two to three coats of this to defined my lashes.

Would I repurchase it? YES! But I will definitely have some difficulty finding MM products here in Australia. I purchased this for RM 50 (Malaysia Ringgit) so I believe it will be a little pricier here.

Overall, good mascara for daily wear if you're wanting a more natural, lengthening mascara.

Have you tried out any of Majolica Majorca mascaras before? Which is your favorite?

Helloo everyone! First of all, I hope you had a wonderful Christmas spent with your loved ones, ate lots of yummy food and I hope Santa was good to you this year hehe! Yesterday was Boxing Day over here [Australia], which was our equivalent of the Black Friday sales. Of course, I had to go and check out some good deals. Wowee! The traffic and finding a parking spot was not fun at all. Once in the mall, there was a sea of people in all directions. I managed to pick up a few things and I thought I would share with you all what I gotten at the shopping madness sales.☺

It was that crazy busy that we had to wait in line to get into the shops.. Mumma wanted a Coach bag really badly so together we picked this baby up. Technically, mum bought this but shhh..I'm gonna "borrow" it every once a while. Sharing is caring, right? I love the tangerine-reddish color which will add a nice pop of color to any outfit - Perfect for summer. It is also very spacious on the inside. This Coach Cross over bag was originally $235 and mum bought it for $164.50 at the sale. Now, that's an awesome deal!

I didn't get a bunch of clothing just because there was no way that I was going to wait in the HUGE line to try on any clothes [Ain't nobody got time for that]! These two pieces caught my eye- bought it- and went out of the shops. That's how I do it and hope for the best that they fit me. I got a basic metallic grey tank top which I can get away with being a little loose [$9.99] and I also got a floral printed peplum top with some lace detailing at the front. Floral + lace= ♥ This was originally $19.95 and I got it for $9.95. Happy me☺

Another favorite purchase of mine. I desperately needed a wallet and I'm super happy I bought this wallet from Mimco! When I was in the shops, there weren't a huge range of wallets left and for some reason, this caught my eye [I think it's the big, giant gold button]. It's a nice size- it's not too bulgy, so it will fit nicely in my purse. I love the soft leather and the metallic gold lining on the inside. [Was: $169 Sale: $79] Woohoo!

Lovisa was the first shop that I went into as I was gravitated by their beautiful display of gems. Girls and a few guys were going cray in there. I even got pushed and bumped into [in my mind I was like, "hell no, you didn't!"] Haha all was good though cause I managed to scored some gems like the ones pictured above. How stunning is the statement necklace?! I just knew I had to get it and it was originally $34.99 but I got it for $12...yes please! I'm into all things dainty and I love this gold "Believe" necklace [ just reminded me of Justin Bieber..NO! That's not the reason why I bought it.]. I love the little message that said, "If you believe in yourself, anything is possible." It will give me that motivation that I need whenever I wear it. [Original price: $9.99. Now: $5].

Lastly, I also bought a few things from Typo which is my favorite stationery shop. I needed a planner for next year cause I need to be more organised...and look, it's polka dots! I also got a journal which I will use for my blog. I love the baby pink color and you can't see from this picture but on the outside, the pages are gold. I got the same one for my friend in a Tiffany blue color and I wanted one for myself too.
Also partly because, it has a miniature Eiffel Tower as a bookmark! Soo cute!

With a journal, I will need something to write in it with. So...I bought the ice-cream pen! It matches my journal and I loveee collecting quirky things like that hehe.

Just cause I'm a little weird and I like posing with an fake ice-cream..

So that concludes my Boxing Day sale haul. I'm pretty happy with my purchases. Did you go shopping on Boxing Day? Let me know what amazing bargains you got!

Helloo everyone! I had a wonderful day today. I [finally] caught up with my has been way to long.. It has been two years since I've last saw them. Okay, maybe that's a bit exaggerated but that's what it felt like! From seeing them everyday at school last year to only seeing them once every few weeks this year, dangg it was good to see their pretty faces again! We had a breakfast date in the morning at this cute cafe called, 'The Tasting Station'.

Roasted mushrooms, poached egg, toasted bread, spinach (not sure what those leafy greens is called), goat curd, avocado and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar...yummy in my tummy!

I can't even begin to tell you how amazingly delicious the food is there! Let's just say that I demolished the entire plate board [except for the goat was my first time trying it and it wasn't too bad]. The food there is also served on a wooden board, how fancy shmancy is that?! I love that rustic modern vibe.

My English Breakfast tea served on this vintage-esq tray.

After our hungry stomach had been fed, we exchanged Christmas presents!☺

My girlies know me so incredibly well. I lovee each and every gift I received!♥

I also went and watched 'American Hustle' today [mainly because J-Law is in it], I don't know how I feel about this movie. I was confuse in the beginning but as it went along, the story line was pretty good. Have any of you seen it?

Top- Glassons
Studded Boots- Famous Footwear (London Rebel)
Necklace- Colette

Guys, can't you tell i'm excited for Christmas?..Maybe a little bit? With only two sleeps to go, I decided to dressed all Christmassy today with my green and white stripped long sleeves top and my red skater skirt. I also teamed it with my gold geometric panel necklace that matches my gold studded booties. This is such a fun, festive outfit. However, it was probably not a good idea to wear a skirt out today. It was sunny but also super windy [Ahh typical Melbourne, you just never know what the weather will be like]. Thanks wind, Merry Christmas to those I unintentionally're welcome! -.-

OOTD: Lacey Day

Helloo my pretties! Yesterday was a fun fulfilling day for me, where I did some major damage to my wallet. Ooops...everything is for my family and friends though! Okay, I lied. I may have gotten a "few" goodies for myself. [Hey! Sale and bargains are in my DNA..I couldn't resist with all the big, red SALE signs calling my name!] However, I am happy to say that I've finally finish my Christmas shopping! [Woohooo!] Now to wrap all of the presents up and hope the gifts are appreciated. One of the things I love about Christmas is buying gifts for people and seeing their reactions when they unwrap their present. The idea of giving is important to me and makes me happy.☺

Apart from the shopping therapy, I also attended a friend's film screening which I was lucky enough to be part of. The short film was for an Uni final assessment as he's in his final year of his film & TV major. I was so impressed with the end product and thought it was intelligent, humorous and professionally filmed. I was only an extra in it but it was such a fun experience overall. Seeing myself on the big screen is a bit cray! This short film will most likely be put up onto YouTube land soon and when it does, I will be sure to give you the link to watch it.[You will get to see my derp face..yay! haha☺]

Okie dokie..enough rambling.. I will now show you the outfit I chose to wear yesterday!
LACE DRESS: Glue Store
BOOTS: Famous Footwear
BAG: Colette
NAIL POLISH: 05 Light Purple (BYS)
NECKLACE: Sportsgirl

I'm the type of person to plan what I will be wearing the night before. I originally planned to wear shorts and a nice lace peplum top. However, when I stepped outside in the morning, it was cloudy and a little chilly. I decided against wearing shorts. I chose to wear this lace dress instead. It's girly, feminine and absolutely gorgeous. I love how the sleeves and the back is sheer and see-through (don't worry, the bottom half of the dress is saucy details to be seen there!). Then, I had an another dilemma..what shoes do I wear? Wedges would be nice but I was going to be walking around all day in the city. I came to the decision to wear these boots. I think it worked with the dress. With the outfit looking a bit "dull", I needed a pop of color and a touch of summer to the outfit. So, I added the bubble necklace which I loveee.

I love this outfit! I think it all came together in the end with all the decision making to put an outfit together haha. How was your day?☺

Hello pretties! [cue: I can't believe it's December already! November had flew by so quickly!] Seriously, where has the time gone? There are 25 days left of 2013 and only 19 sleeps till Christmas. Say what?! Time flies when you're having fun aye?! Anyways, I thought I'd share some of the things I loveed in the month of November. Let's begin!..

Before packing to go to Malaysia, I didn't want to bring my foundation with me because I didn't want to wear something heavy like a foundation on my face in the humid, hot weather. So, I opted for a BB cream instead. Now, I know Maybelline has another version of BB cream, but I went with this one because it caters for oily skin and I have oily/combination skin. On the days I felt like I needed a little bit of coverage, I used this. I think it gives a decent coverage but definitely doesn't completely covers up my imperfections. It is light and easy to apply. I do use a powder over it, just to set it. It leaves a dewy finish, which I quite like. I wore this a few times in photos and because of the SPF, it does leave a white cast especially in flash mode. Overall, I quite like this BB cream and will be using it a lot during summer.

This is actually my second bottle of this amazing moisturiser. This goes to shows, how much I actually love this product. The consistency is quite thick and creamy but it leaves your skin feeling hydrated and smooth. What is amazing about this baby, is that it helps reduce my hyper-pigmentation. That alone, won me over. Another pro about this, is that it has very super tiny little shimmers that helps even out the skin tone and make your skin look healthy and dewy.. Don't let the shimmers put you off. Honestly, you can't notice it at all. [Unless, someone stands really close to you where both of your noses touched..that'd be awkward.]

OOhh another Aveeno product..I love their stuff! No, I'm not being sponsored by them.. I brought this with me on my trip to Malaysia and I'm so glad I did. It does a great job at keeping my body moisturized for majority of the day. I like that it has natural colloidal oatmeal in it, which if you didn't know oatmeal is actually very good for your skin. Oatmeal contains healthy fats that help repair and revitalize skin. I love using this after I shaved. It just leaves my legs feeling so silky smooth and soft like a baby's bottom.

This is definitely an essential product to have. It does an amazing job at removing all of my makeup (even waterproof mascaras!) and leaves my skin feeling so refreshing. It doesn't dry out or irritate my skin afterwards, it still leave it feeling hydrated. I love drinking green tea, so the fragrance is lovely and make me crave drinking green tea hehe. If you're lazy about removing your makeup [warning: NEVER sleep with makeup on] this is your best friend at removing your making quickly and semi efficiently without much hassle.

absolutely adore this bag! I didn't have a tan colored bag till now. I love the plaited braid design and I love how it looks a little vintage. It actually goes with a lot of different outfit and you can fit quite a few essential things in it.

Okay, before you all freak out that this is my "unfavorite" item of the month, hear me out first. I actually bought this a really long time ago (I like to stock up on my mascaras) and I've heard a lot of positive things about it. However, when I used this for the very first time...the wand was missing!
I kept closing it and opening again cause I thought it was stuck but it was nowhere to be found. In an ideal world, I would have return it but I bought it in advance and didn't have the receipt anymore. I was also overseas at that time, so there wasn't really much I could do. Luckily, I brought my Maybelline Falsies with me, so I just use that wand instead. And then this happened..
When I took the wand out of the Mega Plush mascara, the whole wand was overly covered with the product. It was unusable. Anyhow, let me know if you think I should repurchase this and give it another go.

I decide to use nail strips while I was in Malaysia as I found them more convenient than having to bring nail polishes and nail remover with me. I love the design. Surprisingly, they last quite a long time. I found that the second week was where it started to chipped. I would recommend wearing a base coat which I forgot to. When peeling it off, it does leave a sticky residue. Wearing a top coat also help it stay on for longer and give it a little shine. Super easy and fast to apply and great for when you're travelling or on-the-go.

When I heard and watched this music video, I fell in love with it [not Luke, the song..or both]. Luke did such an amazing job on the video. It just goes to show how far he has come. Not gonna lie, this video did make me a little teary. I thought it was very meaningful. It's about vlogging/recording everyday of one's life and sharing with the world... "If you could go back in time, would you do it again?" Definitely go and check it out and give it a thumb up! ☺

So, that wraps up my November faves. Let me know what some of your favorite products you loved in the month of November. I hope you all have a jolly and wonderful December!

OOTD- Flannelette & A Pop of Pink

Hey lovelies! How are we all? I had a great day today where I got to spend some quality time with my beautiful mother dearest. It has been a while and I'm so happy we got to hang out today and have some mother-daughter time together.♥ I thought I'd share the outfit I have chosen to wear today with you all..
Weather Forecast: 27°C  and chance of rain [Ohh how's currently rainning right now!]

Flannel Shirt- Sabrina Teo (from Malaysia)
Singlet- ICE
Pink shorts- Dotti
Sandals- Vincci
Bag- Ozmosis by Rip Curl
Sunglasses- Portmans
Watch- Bonia
Bracelets- Lovisa
Owl ring- Pinang,Malaysia

As the weather was warm today, I decided to bring those pink denim shorts out to play. It's the second day of summer, I thought it was appropriate [seeing that it will be raining and 17°C tomorrow]. It also adds a touch of color to the whole outfit. I paired the shorts with a white single and a pink, white and orange flannel shirt. It went matchy-matchy with the shorts very well. When wearing short-shorts, I like to wear a longer cross-body bag to counterbalance out the shortness of the shorts. Our eyes will visually and naturally stop at where the last piece of material is hanging on your body. [Our eyes like to play tricks on us!] How cute is that little owl ring that I was wearing? I'm currently obsessed with owl accessories..hoot hoot!

I hope you all had a good day and an even better day tomorrow! ☺

♥Thankful for Blogger Friends TAG!♥

Image via

Hey you pretty people! Today, I will be doing another tag post for you all. I think they are super fun and it gives you an insight of the blogger. This particular tag was created by one of my faves, Karen from KPsays. If you haven't check out her blog yet, you should really do so, because Karen is a great beauty blogger and she's just an all-round wonderful person. I was actually tagged by the lovely Hope from Beauty & Bliss to do this tag [Go check out Hope's blog too as she's currently doing a Craftin' for Christmas Series]. I'm so excited to do this cause I thought this tag is so meaningful and Karen came up with some amazing questions (14 question about your blog and 14 questions about you☺) for us to answer. So, let's jump straight into the questions!..

ABOUT YOUR BLOG (Please be specific in your answers, so we can all learn something!):
  1. How long have you been blogging? I started blogging on the 23rd of September with my first post being an "Herro Spring" OOTD post. Soo..I've been blogging for a little over two months![Woohoo!!]
  2. Are there any bloggers who helped you out/encouraged you when you first started your blog? Hands down it was my blogger bestie, Cali from Cali Jae that encouraged me and helped me out when I started blogging. We connected through Instagram and at that time, I was planning on starting a blog and I saw that she has her own blog going. From then on, the rest was history haha. She has been there for me since the get-go and she's always so helpful. I can't thank her enough! [Thankyouu Twinny! :P]
  3. What Social Media has given you the most traffic to your blog?  Is there a platform that you don’t use? I would say Twitter and Google+. My Instagram is where you get to see my fashion illustrations and quotes inspiration as captions. I do have a Pinterest account and Facebook but I haven't been consistent in posting on there. Oops. *smack hand*.. Bare with me guys!
  4. How often do you post?  Do you have a regular schedule? I am still figuring out my schedule. At the moment, I'm on Summer holidays so I am hoping to get better at posting more often!
  5. Where do you blog? Usually in my room on my desk. ☺
  6. What camera do you use?  What photo editing software do you use? I have a Lumix Panasonic DMC-TZ8 camera and I recently received a Nikon D3200 as my early Christmas present [Yayy!! Thanks mum and dad!♥] which I am still experimenting with.In terms of editing software, I mainly use Adobe Photoshop.
  7. How did you come up with your blog name? I knew I wanted my initials [NY] to be in the name cause I love my initials- it's catchy, you know NY, New York? No?.. New York is one of the many places I want to visit one day..Shhh..I secretly think it's me when people wear those I ♥ NY t-shirts. Long story short, 'Yours Truly, NY' was born.
  8. Do you do any regular “series” posts on your blog? No.. I did start doing D&Ms with NY series in the beginning which focuses more on lifestyle topics. I need to bring it back and be more consistent with it.
  9. What draws you to a blog? The layout and the "tone" of the post to me is very important. Especially the tone. I don't want to be reading something that is like an essay. I want to get a feel of the blogger's personality, not their writing skills. Of course, clear and well photographed images are appreciated as well.
  10. What turns you off of a blog? Oooh..this might be a little harsh but lots of spelling mistakes is such a turn off! Okay, I'm not perfect and I probably have many grammar mistakes but I do double and triple checked my posts before publishing it. When there's a spelling mistake, there's a little red, squiggly line that indicates right-click it and FIX IT. It's pretty silly and shows that the person's effort and doesn't care what they post on their blog.
  11. How many blogs do you subscribe to? Are they all beauty related? Oh holy moly, I'm currently subcribed to 110 blogs! Not all are beauty though, half are fashion and some lifestyle blogs.
  12. When do you generally read blogs? Well, I'm currently blogging at 11:05PM [Aussie Time]. I am a night owl, I work better at night. Yeah,I mainly read blogs at night time when I'm not blogging and some during the day when I have time.
  13. What is your favorite type of post, and why? I personally enjoy reading tag posts because they allow us to learn more about the blogger. Reviews and monthly favourites are great to read too, to find new products to try.
  14. What is your least favorite type of post, and why? I honestly can't think of any type of post that I dislike to read as of yet. I'm open to reading different type of post.
NOW ABOUT YOU!!  (If any are any you prefer not to answer, just skip!):
  1. Where do you live? Tell us a bit about your city! I'm currently living in a small town about two hours outside of Melbourne,Australia. Next year, I will be living in the beautiful city of Melbourne [Yayy!].☺
  2. What about your home? My house is just an ordinary house in the town. Opposite my house, there's a huge block of land. You'd think I live on a farm but nope.
  3. Single or taken? I'm very single and ready to mingle!...No.Seriously. Where is my Prince Charming?!
  4. Do you have children? ^Nope.
  5. Do you have pets? Yes, I have two gold fishes and a very handsome, adorable dog named Twinkle. He's a Chihuahua X Pomeranian♥
  6. Do you have a “day job”? I'm working part-time as a waitress at the moment.
  7. How tall are you? I believe I'm 5'4.
  8. Do you have siblings? I have an older brother named Nicholas. He's three years older than me and is an aspiring doctor.☺
  9. 3 words to describe yourself. Kind.Creative.Quiet
  10. Who is your style icon, and why? Lauren Conrad, hands down! I love her style- casual, chic, feminine and classy- all in one!
  11. 3 favorite bands/musicians. Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo and Luke Conrad.
  12. 3 favorite movies. Umm..Pitch Perfect, About Time and my newly favorite, Catching Fire!
