♡"Why Do You Wear Makeup?" Tag♡

Yoohoo!! I'm back with another tag. I was tagged by the lovely, Laurie from The Makeup Squid to do the "Why do you wear makeup?" tag. If you haven't check out Laurie's blog and YouTube channel yet, stop what you are doing right now and go subscribe and follow her.[I will give you one minute to do so and come back to finish reading this post, go go go!.] I love her sense of humour and her blog posts are always so helpful. Thankyou for tagging me, Laurie!☺ Now onto the tag...

  1. When did you begin loving makeup?
I never really got into makeup till I was in Year 10 (16 year old). I started wearing black eye-liner and thinking back now, I regretted it so much. Every time I got home from school, my eye-liner smudged everywhere. During that year, I also started watching beauty videos on YouTube. Thanks to the beauty gurus, I learnt how to applied make-up the right way and till this day I'm still learning little tips and tricks of wearing makeup. When I got to Year 12, that's when I started wearing a full faced of makeup except eye-shadow. Which wasn't really necessary in highschool but it did make me feel more confident when I did wear make-up.

    2.                                          How do you feel without makeup?

When I was younger, not having any make-up on was a bit of a torture. To be completely honest with you, I felt ugly. I know, it's a horrible thing to say but when you had such bad, acne prone skin, that was exactly how I felt without makeup. I remember one time I had to go into the shop to hand something to my mum and I didn't have any makeup on. I refused to get out of the car. Now thinking back, that was just so silly of me. As I gotten older, I learnt to take care of my skin and learnt to accept myself. I challenged myself to get out of the house without wearing makeup. Of course, it was no easy task but each time I went without any makeup, I felt more and more confident. I am happy to say I can now go to the shops without any make-up on and still feel confident. [Gimme five, baby!]

    3.                                             What do you like about makeup?

The thing I love about makeup is its ability to transform someone's appearance in a way that it's not distorting someone's look but enhancing their natural features. Not everyone have perfect skin, I don't anyways and I love how I can conceal my imperfections even if it's only temporarily. To me, makeup is an art and I'm a creative person. I love how makeup can transform so many looks for different occasions. Makeup is quite magical, really. Even if you are very ill, a little bit of makeup and you can trick people into thinking you're fine. So bravo to the people that invented makeup, bravo!

     4.                                                   Three holy grail items:

        Maybelline Falsies Mascara (waterproof)

Maybelline 24hr Colour Tatto in Bad To The Bronze

Nivea Milk & Honey lip balm

Hello to all you pretty people that are reading this post right now! Today, I have a fun fashion post that I put together for you guys. A lot of people know how to style a plain LBD easily, but people sometimes neglect that you can style up a fun patterned, printed dress too. And I'm going to show you how to make use of that one dress and turn it into 5 different outfits! [Whoop whoop!]

Here, I have a navy blue dress with white polka-dots with a little ruffle detailing at the front. I got this dress at Cotton On for only $10AUD on sale (bargain!). On its own, it's a fun summery type of dress but I reckon we can spiced it up a bit...

I Mean Business..

Blazer- Valley Girl
Skirt- Ally Fashion
Flats- Famous Footwear

If you have a job interview or if you work at a firm, this look is perfecto for you. It's classy and well put together. If you are heading out at night, take off that blazer, let your hair out, add some bling and put on some killer heels and voila! You have another outfit. Two outfit in one?! Say no more, I'm sold. It's all about convenience and functionality.

Fun & Bold..
Skirt- Boohoo.com
Shoes- Famous footwear by London Rebel

This outfit is very cute, fun and bold. The red obviously stands out and catches your attention but it's not too over the top as the navy blue complement the red and tames it down. It's a fun and playful outfit for all you daring girls that likes to standout by wearing a bold color and a fun patterned outfit. I also went with a little ankle booties for the footwear just to make it more casual and chic. A neutral tone for the shoes is perfect to tie in the outfit all together.

Warm & Fuzzy...
Oversized sweater- ICE
Knitted Scarf- Rubi
Combat boots- Famous Footwear by Naughty Monkey

This is one of my favourite outfits. It's casual but girly at the same time. An oversized sweater make any outfit look effortless and casual. Throw on a chunky, knitted infinity scarf and you're good to go. The combat boots make the outfit look a little edgy but comfy. Perfect for those chill days when you're out just doing errands.

Effortlessly Chic..
Scarf- Ally Fashion
Cardigan- Cotton On
Belt- Cotton On

Another one of my faves. It's a classic spring outfit. Scarf is a dual purpose, versatile piece. Here, I'm using it as an accessory instead to dress up the outfit. I also added a cardigan for those cold, spring days. Because of the cardigan and scarf, the waist become less visible. So, from the back, it will just look like a straight figure silhouette, which isn't flattering at all. To bring back those sexy curves and cinch in the waist line, I added a thin belt.

Casual Coffee Date..
Chambray Denim Jacket- Glassons
Owl Necklace- Diva
Tights- Cotton On

This is an easy outfit to put together. It is what I'd wear to a coffee date with my friends. I'm all about comfort when dressing and this is the outfit for it. To jazz up the outfit, I added a long statement owl necklace just to add another element to the look. A chambray top is a must have piece in your wardrobe. It goes with almost everything. I'd recommend wearing tights on those windy days to avoid flashing other people. [Even though you are wearing a cute pair of Victoria's Secret underwear, no one need to sees it!] Instead of a boring, plain black tights, try wearing ones that have cool patterns on them.

There we have it, ladies. I hope now when you look in your wardrobe and think you have nothing to wear, think again! Let me know which is your favourite outfits in the comments. Love you all!

Hi my beautiful readers! Today I'll be sharing my makeup routine with you all. The title of this post does state "My Everyday Makeup Routine", however I do not wear makeup everyday. This is a makeup routine I go by when I want to look a little more awake and presentable when I socialize with other people on the day. To me, makeup is not a necessity but more of an enhancement to your features. I can go out the door without any makeup on but I do feel more confident with makeup on. You know, you look good, you feel good. I think makeup complete an outfit and make someone look more put together and nice. So without further ado, let's begin..

Yup, that's me all bare face. As you can tell, by no means do I have perfect skin at all. I have dark under eyes circles (which I like to call them "designer bags"), uneven skin-tone, redness around my nose, high pigmentation/ scars from acne.. To sum it all up, I have flaws. I'm only human☺. Thankgoodness for makeup, I can concealed my imperfections temporarily and look decent.

After I have applied my serum and moisturizer, I like to take a piece of tissue. I simply separate the tissue, so I use the 1 ply of the tissue and then I blot my face. This helps with getting rid of any excess oil from the moisturizer and helps keeps my face matte.

Then, I prime my face. Not everyone like to do this step, but for my skin type (oily/combination) I find it beneficial. It helps hydrate my skin and it prep my face for foundation. I use the Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation Skin Primer. It works great, It has Vitamin E & Chamomile Extracts which helps strengthen and smooth out my complexion.

In conjunction to the primer, I also use the Napoleon Perdis Auto Pilot Pore Minimizer and Mattifier. I love this product so much! I can definitely tell the difference to my skin if I don't use this. When I use this, my skin stay matte for majority of the day which is great. A little product goes a long way, I usually just applied this on my T-zone areas. My skin feel so velvety soft after applying it and it does diminished my pores temporarily.

Next, I like to concealed my "designer bags" with my newly favourite, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser. I love the consistency of this, it blends so beautifully and it brightens up my eyes instantly. [This makes my panda eyes look more awake.]

Now, it's time to work on the face. The foundation that I like to use is the Clinique Stay-Matte Oil-Free Makeup. It helps concealed my pigmentation, acne scars and redness on my face. It's very build-able and leaves my face looking flawless. I like to dot the foundation on my skin and blending it out with my fingers (don't worry, I make sure my hands are clean☺). Then, with the left over foundation I use my Eco Tools foundation brush to make sure the foundation is all blended nicely.

After that, I set my foundation with a setting powder. As you can see above, I use the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder. I have already gone through three of these, I love them. The powder is finely milled, so when you apply it on your skin, it's not going to look nor feels cakey.

I like to bring back some warmth to my face with the Rimmel Natural Brozer in 002 Sun Bronze. I don't particularly like this product at all. It's not very pigmented. I have to load up heaps of product onto my Real Technique Kabuki brush in order for the colour to show on my skin. I applied this on the spots where the sun usually hits on the face.

Lastly for my face to get that blushy look, I apply the Rimmel Match Perfection Blush in 003 Medium on to my cheeks. The colours are absolutely gorgeous when they're all mixed together. It leaves a nice glow to my skin and also highlights my cheek bones.

Now onto my eyes, I don't really do much due to the little amount of time I have in the morning to get ready [ I like my beauty sleep, okay?]. I like using the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze.

It is a very beautiful bronze-y colour (hence the name). It is so easy to apply and it doesn't crease on my eye lids. I like how it's not too shimmery which is great for the everyday look.

Then, it's time for some eye-liner action. Once again another Maybelline product, I use their Eyestudio Gel liner in Charcoal. If you look at my picture closely of me without makeup, you can see that one of my eye lids is more noticeable than my other eye. Thus, for one of my eyes I used a little more liner than the other to make sure both eyes looks similar. I also like to winged out my eyes a little.

Next, I curled my eyelashes and then I apply the Maybelline Falsies in the waterproof version. This is my favourite mascara of all time. I've gone through about five of these and still counting. I've tried other mascaras but I always come back to this one and I have to always get the waterproof version.

[I promise this post is not sponsored by Maybelline!] I don't like to wear black eye-liner during the day on my bottom lash line. Instead, I use a matte brown eye-shadow.  It's less harsher than a black liner and it also looks more softer and natural. The quad I use is in Designer Chocolates. I also use the champagne colour from the quad to highlight my brow bones and inner corner of my eyes.

Ladies, having nice, groomed brows are a must. I use the Nude by nature brow pencil in brunette. I simply just fill in any little areas with the brow pencil then groomed my brows with the spoolie. Make sure your brows are sisters not twins.

For the lips, I use the Nivea Pure & Natural Milk and Honey lip balm. This lip balm is the bomb, it's so moisturizing and smells delicious. Then for a bit of colour, I use the Color Whispers by Maybelline in Lust for Blush.

Finally to finish off the makeup, I spritz my face with the Australis Make-Up Finishing spray. Supposedly, it's meant to set the make-up for all day wear but i'm not so sure about that claim. However, it smells great and makes my face feel fresh.

TA-DA!! That's my everyday makeup routine. I hope you guys enjoy reading this post and let me know what's your must have products in your makeup routine.
Stay beautiful.

 11 Random Facts About Me!
  1. I was born and raised in Malaysia in the city of KL. In 2004, my family and I migrated to Australia and it's fair to say my entire life has changed ever since. I love living in Australia and I'm happy to call it my home.
  2. Growing up I had horrible teeth and I had braces for a little more than two years.
  3. I used to play the flute and piano. I actually haven't touch my piano ever since I played at my graduation last year. Oops.
  4. One of my biggest pet peeves is picky eaters! I totally understand if you're allergic to a certain food or if it's against your religion to eat that certain food or if you're a vegetarian. People that doesn't try a certain food due to other people's opinions or the appearance of the food just annoys me sooo much. I feel that the way someone perceives food can say a lot about them. (Sorry not sorry for the little rant.)
  5. I am an introverted person. As much as I enjoy hanging out with my friends and going out to have fun, it takes a lot of energy out of me. So from time to time, I love being alone and doing my own thing like designing, listening to music, read, [dance naked around the house...].
  6. As an introvert, clubbing is not my thing at all. I've been clubbing for a few times to come to a conclusion that it's just not my style. I feel very out of place and awkward. Also, people getting it on like donkey kong at clubs just a bit too much for my liking.
  7. I'm allergic to alcohol [cue laughter]. I'm 100% serious, people don't believe me when I tell them. At the end of the day, you don't need to have alcohol in you to have a blast.
  8. I used to play tennis and I gave that up to learn swimming which I regret very much. Tennis is the only sport I can sit down and watch for hours and hours.
  9. I am a self proclaimed quotes junkie. I read a bunch of quotes everyday for fun (don't judge me). I find them very empowering, motivating, inspiring and relatable.
  10. Fun fact: I have fallen asleep in the cinema for a few times..
  11. I don't like drinking soft drinks. However, I love drinking all types of teas.

NOTW: It's a fairy-tale...

Hi my lovelies! Today I'll be sharing with you all my NOTW (Nails of The Week). I am someone that prefer to do my own nails as oppose to going to the nail salon and getting them done professionally. I think I've only ever gotten my nails done once, for my debutante ball back in 2011. Doing my nails myself is so much more convenient and cheaper, also the effort I put into doing my own nails makes me feel more accomplished and satisfied. Sometimes, painting your nails with just a solid red polish can be boring, so why not give your nails a bit of finesse with this easy nail look? This nail look reminds me of what fairy-tale princesses would wear. It's simple to create and best of all, there's no nail tools required! Now, let's get starteddd..

What you'll need:
  • Base coat nail polish
  • Your preferred nail polish color
  • Glitter nail polish
  • Top coat nail polish

Before you get started on painting your nails, make sure you prep them first. Cut your nails, filed them to your desired shape, buffed them..you know the drill.

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength nail colour in #62

Next, applied a layer of your favorite base coat. This is important as it will prevent your natural nails from staining and peeling.

Sinful Colors Professional #982 BE HAPPY

Now, this is the main part of the nail look. Try not to use any holographic or shimmery nail polishes, just a plain solid nail polish color will do. You are now going to swipe the nail polish wand back and fort on the edge of the bottle, so you are left with a little product on the wand. Applied the nail polish lightly on your nails. Make sure you don't cover the nail polish on the entire nails (leave the end of your nails clear).

This is going to be your second layer. You are going to applied another coat of polish and this time not to worry about swiping the wand but you also don't want too much product on there. Apply this on half way of your nails.

Lastly, put one more coat of nail polish to the tips of your nails. So, you're essentially creating a gradient effect on your nails (lightest to darkest on the tip of the nails).

MODE nail enamel #10611 DIAMONTE

This is the crucial step. I know, glitter nail polishes are a pain to remove but you will need it to complete the look. Paint a coat of the glitter nail polish onto your nails, or till you're satisfied with how it looks. This step also helps the color to merged together to make the gradient effect stands out more.

Lastly, put a layer of top coat to helps the nail design last longer and prevent chipping and also adds a beautiful shine.

Don't fret if you accidentally get some nail polish on your skin. Simply remove it with a cotton bud and some nail polish remover.

VOILA!! Now you have yourself a set of pretty nails to show off. Wasn't that easy?! The pictures doesn't do it justice, you really need to see the end results yourself. Whether you're going to the upcoming Melbourne Cup, formal, prom or if you're a mermaid wannabe (whatever floats your boat ☺), this nail look is perfect for all you girly-girls out there. You will be sure to get some compliments on them and be asked how to get this design and it will just be our little secret hehe.
